Anything and everything I read on a regular basis is posting something today. Rather than go off on what would be a long winded post, I'm just going to share with you some of the highlights I enjoyed as brought to you by other associations.- Riley's Ride does a good job describing the sense of change that people are sharing with each other. I haven't experienced this, but it's thrilling to imagine.
- Joe. My. God. has the highlight clip of the flubbed oath of office. Both Chief Justice John Roberts and Obama messed this one up. I don't knock him for it... hugely nervous moment in Obama's life for sure.
- Joe and friends provide some nice commentary on Aretha's completely awesome hat. She pulled it off quite well I think.
- Gawker has already put together a Top 10 Moments. Again, the hat!
- The Fire Wire has a nice story on moving the presidents in and out.
- The new Whitehouse.gov (check it out!) has an updated list of goals for LGBTQ rights. Towleroad has a nice list.
- A sentence submitted to One Sentence.
- A look at the other side of the coin from A Day in the Life of an Ambulance Driver.
- Lastly, here's the full text to Obama's speech.
As for myself, I watched the live feed on MSNBC until Chris Mathews became too annoying. Then I tried to switch to CNN but their feed had a wait list so I was stuck. It cut in and out, I missed probably 1-2 minutes of the speech. Posting this and streaming that violates two office policies in one! Double point score!
A simple way of explaining the disgust at Rick Warren's participation finally occured to me: If it were 60 years ago, he is the type of man who would have fought against equal rights for African Americans. Thankfully he only slightly soured the event.
Time to turn over a new leaf, change the toilet paper roll, joggle the etch-a-sketch, wipe the slate clean, take some Windex to the windows, and whatnot. I'm looking forward to it. I've never been excited about my government before.
I love breaking office policies. In fact, I’m doing that right now by reading and commenting on your blog. Unfortunately for me, my office has a sophisticated babysitting program that doesn’t allow us to visit any sort of entertainment/video/streaming sites. :(
